Clear all Temporary Files Optimize your hard drive
To solve these issues use Windows Disk Cleanup tool located at Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Disk Cleanup. This program will re-organize the files on your hard drive to make them continuous again.
As you fill up your hard drive, Windows places new files wherever there is room. Sometimes files must be broken into pieces to fit in available space. Too many broken (or fragmented) files will slow your system down and increase the likelihood of data loss or hard drive crashes. It is recommended to run a defragmenter program on a monthly basis.
To solve these issues use Windows Disk Defragmenter tool located at Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Disk Defragmenter. This program will re-organize the files on your hard drive to make them continuous again. (There may be a few files it cannot move, but we won't worry about these now.)
Norton System Works includes Speed Disk which may work better, but essentially performs the same duty.
